Humpback Whales, sometimes they breach!
are traveling in pods of up to 20 individuals and „family“ members alongside our South African waters northwards.
In there breeding ground from SA, MOZ to MAD they will breed, give birth or just hang out over the cold and dark winter season in Antarctica. Apparently 22.000 Humpback travel this way up and down our coastline from April till December or sometimes even January every year.
They are approachable (if you have a Whale & Dolphin permit like us) and they are a great opportunities to take photos of.
