On 27/07/2019 at 12:10 pm, Rainer skippered the Expert Tours Vessel and excited Guests on a Whale and Dolphin spotting trip to Cape Recife, leaving from GQDSAC at 12:10 pm.
We travelled out from the Port of Gqeberha in around 5 knots of warm North East breeze towards Cape Recife. Around 1 kilometres out from Cape Recife we spotted the first two Humpback Whales and followed one until about 22 kilometers offshore. The second Humpback followed rewarded us with a breach and then headed out to sea. Returning to the Cape Recife area we spotted two travelling in the direction of the harbour. A passing fishing boat could have startled them as we next spotted them hastening their way out to sea once again.
A wonderful winters day allowed us to stay in shorts and t-shirts for the entire trip.
