On 23/08/2019 Anthony skippered the Expert Tours Vessel and excited Guests on a Whale and Dolphin spotting trip to Cape Recife, leaving from GQDSAC at 09:00 am.
Today’s trip was one close to the heart of Algoa Bay Marine as we hosted pupils from St Teresa’s Primary School.
These pupils were worthy prize wnners in the recent Mandela Bay BOATS Tournament held at Father’s House Church in Patterson Road.
BOATS is a sequel to the TANKS coding app, developed in Gqeberha by NMU Computing Sciences student – Byron Batteson, which aims to introduce children to basic coding concepts whilst educating them on the effects of plastic waste in the ocean.
SO BANG – we had it: coding for the nerd in Alan and plastic waste education for Algoa Bay Marine and our environment.
The excited pupils along on our trip were; Kaylin Smith, Schuyler Assumption, Keirah Vital, Daylin Philips and Jayden Jansen.
For all but one this was the first time that these pupils from the Phyllis Rd, Schauderville, Gqeberha school had been on a boat.
And we were rewarded with many sightings, a couple of ‘feed the fish’ moments and some heart thumping flat water speeding to get rid of the nauseau.
It was a privilege to host a great bunch of polite and bright children who are a blessing to their school.
