On 01/05/2019 at 08:30 am, Kyle skippered the Algoa Bay Marine Vessel and excited Guests on a Whale and Dolphin spotting trip to St Croix, leaving from GQDSAC at 08:30 am.
On Workers Day 1 May 2019 we exited the Port of Gqeberha and travelled south of the Oyster Farm in the direction of New Brighton Pier. Close to Algorax we spotted a large pod of Bottlenose Dolphins cruising towards the New Brighton Pier. Many photo opportunities as the dolphins leaped in the air – of course every photographer onboard missed each opportunity 🙂 – even the one when a dolphin soared into the air right on the stern of the Algoa Bay Marine Vessel !
A report from a fishing vessel of activity at the Rijs Banks saw us hastening the 8 nautical miles out to sea to see if we could see the baitball activity. On arrival the birds floating in the surface all looked at us with a; “Sorry guys, you missed the action expression” whilst Cape Terns busily cleaned up the scraps left behind…
